2023 St Simon Swimming Squad Trials
Thank you to all parents for their support of their child at the Swimming squad trials and shared times to select our St Simon Swimming team for 2023. Based on this information, we congratulate all swimmers who have made the St Simon the Apostle Swimming team for next year.
An Operoo form with information of the District Interschool Swimming Competition will be sent out within the first week of the 2023 school year. Dates and times for the before school morning training sessions will be advised in this form. We hope our team members can make the sessions so they are confident and capable of swimming their events.
In the meantime, we encourage parents of the children to spend some time training their child for next year's swimming competition.
If any students are unable to participate due to illness, injury or COVID based reasons, please contact Mr Karl Camerino so a replacement competitor can be arranged.

St Simon the Apostle 2023 Camp Program Dates
Camps provide a perfect setting for your children to build confidence, independence, responsibility, team work and resilience as part of the school curriculum. We were thrilled that all camps this year were able to happen. The excitement and enjoyment of the camp activities this year have provided unique, stimulating and lifelong learning experiences that have developed our student’s understanding of themselves, others and the world around them. We appreciate the assistance of all our St Simon staff this year in the planning and support of the children on their experiences.
Listed below are the planned camp dates for 2023 for Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. We hope the 2023 year of camp is as memorable and adventurous as the camps for this year.

Year 3 Camp - Wombat Corner, Emerald : Term 4
Wednesday 11th October
Year 4 Camp- Camp Wyuna, YMCA Queenscliff : Term 1
Monday 27th March - Tuesday 28th March
Year 5 Camp- Alexandra Adventure Resort : Term 3
Wednesday 2nd August - Friday 4th August
Year 6 Camp- Camp Coolamatong Farm Camp- Lake Entrance : Term 1
Tuesday 14th March - Friday 17th March (day after Labour Day public holiday)
South East Melbourne Phoenix Clinics- Free Singlets
Early this year, the students participated in GameTime basketball clinics run by coaches and players from the NBL team, the South East Melbourne Phoenix. As a token of their appreciation and our participation, they have provided every student with a GameTime Kmart white singlet to take home. We are extremely grateful for handing out these singlets to our school and each student in the school will receive one over next week.
Knox Rebel Sport Community Partnership with St Simons
Knox Rebel Sport has been a wonderful sponsor of our school in the past and this year. All purchases at this store by parents of the St Simon’s school community provide our school with store credits. These credits are used to provide the school with sporting equipment for sporting activities.
We highly recommend that the next time you visit or purchase an item from Rebel Sport in Knox, ask how to earn credits for our school. Thank you all for your support of our school through our Knox Rebel Sport Community partnership.
