Staff Learning

Prior to school starting up, staff engaged in a full week of professional learning. This included looking at values and protocols for collaboration, a workshop on working with neuro-diverse children with Greg Mitchell, and developing a whole school approach to mathematics with Lisa-Jane O’Connor. We are very excited that each term this year staff will also get to work with Kath Murdoch, the guru of inquiry learning.

Technology at School 

There has been a lot of talk in the media about the ban on phones in high schools that has just come into effect. The place and role of technology at school continues to evolve as rapidly as the technology itself. 

Although most St Paul children do not have phones, the function of other technology such as iPads and smart watches can be used in similar ways. The St Paul Cyber Safety Policy states… 

The technology referred to in this document, includes but is not limited to, TVs and Interactive Whiteboards, desktop and laptop computers, storage devices, CDs, DVDs, iPods and iPads, MP3 players, cameras, smart watches, all types of mobile phones and any other technologies as they come into use. ‘Cyber safety’ refers to the safe and responsible use of this technology…. Children will only use devices and other ICT equipment with educator permission and under adult supervision.

It is important that children only use devices at St Paul after permission from staff. iPads, smart watches etc. also fit into this category.

Music Tuition

Children are able to receive music tuition at St Paul through Learning Through Music, and piano via Tina Hill. If you are interested, please email info@ltmusic.com.au or tinahill00@gmail.com 

50th Glasses and Pins

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of St Paul Lutheran School, special wine glasses and pins are on sale through the front office. A glass is $15, the pin is $5, but if buying one of each the special price is $18. This is also our fundraiser for 2023. There are limited cookies also available for $3.
