Celebrating 50 Years of St Paul Lutheran School

On Sunday, we celebrated our Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving: “Reflecting in the Light”. The 50th Anniversary of St Paul Lutheran School!

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate 50 years of Lutheran education at our beautiful school with members of our community, both past and present.

I feel fortunate to be a part of our St Paul story. During the thanksgiving service, we were sitting amongst some of the many people who have contributed to making St Paul the school we know and love today. Pastor Matt highlighted the various members of the St Paul Lutheran School journey who had joined together for the celebration. With gratitude, we recognised that we had a combination of past families and learners, founding community members, past teachers, staff, principals, council members and pastors as well as current staff, children, church and council members, all of whom hold a special place in their heart for St Paul and our vision of ‘Living and Learning Together in Christ’.

There are so many things to be grateful for at St Paul. The thanksgiving service provided the opportunity to see past community members tour through our school, hearing their joyful memories of teachers, places and spaces. Hearing from the wonderful Chapel Band made up of current staff, family members, past students, council members. Watching our current children engage in enthusiastic conversations while looking at old photos and artifacts with curiosity. It was a lovely illustration of the St Paul community coming together. The service was guided by a piece of scripture that speaks to 50 fruitful years of learning at St Paul.

‘We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord’ Psalm 78:4b

What a perfect piece of scripture to be inspired by as we look back at our history and look forward to our future at St Paul, as we continue to celebrate the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord and his work in our school and community.

Today we continue to be thankful as we welcome our new Receptions who begin their first full day of school with us. We welcome them into a school with a rich history and equally strong vision for our current and future children and we look forward to carrying on the wonderful work as we remember that “we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord’ Psalm 78:4b
