Communication – Schoolbox

The world is ever changing and so is the approach of educating K–12 students.

Where we are faced with a generation of learners with readily available information, easy access and a connected lifestyle, the learning experience needs to equip these students with skills to transform knowledge into wisdom. Having a Learning Management System (LMS) in schools, is the first step to giving teachers the tools they need to optimise their teaching strategies and enhance the learning experience of K–12 students in the 21st century.

Schoolbox will be our unique all-in-one online portal containing the most up to date information and providing the tools for you to take part in your child's learning journey and the College community. The Schoolbox Parent Portal will be designed exclusively for you and your family to have a window into your child’s education. You will have access to resources that relate specifically to your child/ren, without being bombarded with information across other year levels.

So, imagine the learning experience when vital elements like communication and collaboration are extended beyond the classroom. GNLC will also provide teachers and parents with a School Portal solution to keep their students connected even after the bell has rung.

Here are a few features that will come to you as part of Schoolbox;

  • Academic performance via continuous reporting
  • Student timetable and teacher contacts
  • Personalised events and upcoming activities
  • Custom news articles (from your child’s teachers, sub-schools, and groups)
  • Attendance details

We are finalising aspects of Schoolbox and ironing out technical issues before making access available to GNLC families. Information including login details, password settings, a user handbook, instructional video will be provided when Schoolbox is ready for launch to families.

Bicycle Helmets

It has been reported that some of our students are not wearing helmets while riding their bicycles to school.

Bicycle riders are required by law to wear an approved helmet securely fitted and fastened.  There are no exemptions for wearing a helmet in Victoria.  If your child/children ride to school, please remind them to wear their helmet.

To ensure the safety of all members of our community, students are required to walk their bicycles in and out of the College.  Bicycles are not to be ridden around the College grounds.
