Principal’s Message

Mrs Katherine Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

Unbelievably, Week 8 is here!

This week will see the commencement of our building works. This will come with some changes to regular school routines as we will need to be flexible with class locations. If classes need to be relocated they will be in the following areas: K-2 - in the administration building and Yrs 3-6 in the church. Also, as we have limited space available for students to play during recess and lunch, we will look to utilise the Boggabri Park for lunch time play to ensure there are opportunities to be active. Thank you in advance for your flexibility during this time.

At the end of Term 4, students will often be quite fatigued due to the busyness and extra commitments that happen at this time of year. For our students, having experienced considerable disruption to their normal routines due to flooding this may compound the fatigue. We are very mindful of this at school and I am happy for you to contact me at school if required.

On Thursday 8 December we will be holding our Annual Presentation Ceremony at Sacred Heart Church commencing at 11:30am. Afterwards we will be returning to school for light refreshments for families, visitors and students. We would appreciate it if families could bring a plate of food to share.

Our Year 6 students have been invited to attend the St Francis Xavier end of Year 6 pool party on Monday 12 December from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm. A permission note will be sent out through Compass. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue strengthening new friendships for the transition to secondary next year.

Our Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Wednesday 14 at 12:30 pm. This is a great chance for the school and parish communities to meet together before the end of the year. All are welcome.

Advertising for our 2023 transition program will commence this term. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child for 2024 and participate in the transition program next year, please let me know. Program details and enrolment forms for next year's transition program are available by contacting Ms Traynor in the Office.

If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten or any other year group for 2023 , please encourage them to contact me at school.

Happy birthday to Gian Mendoza who celebrates his 11th birthday today. We hope you have a fantastic day!

Take care,

Kath Baird
