YEAR 8 ITALIAN STORYBOOKS AT ST MARY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL

MS MARIA SALVO - CURRICULUM LEADER LANGUAGES

On Wednesday 23rd November, Ms Salvo’s Year 8A Italian students attended St Mary’s Primary School to read their Italian picture Storybooks to Year 1 students. During Term 4, students created children's storybooks in Italian, after having studied animals and other topics throughout the year. The storybooks were very colourful and suited for primary school students as the audience. The themes included farm animals, sea animals, sports, travel and amongst many others. Our Year 8 students read their books to the Year 1  students who were enthusiastic and totally engaged in the activity.

The Year 1 students really enjoyed all the stories and at the end, the whole class listened to Audrey Domaille read The Green Sheep in Italian. After the activity, students enjoyed an Italian treat called cannoli. Next Tuesday 29th November,  Year 8B and Ms Quaife’s 8C will also visit St Mary’s Primary School to read their books to Year 2 classes.
