Athletics Carnival

The 2015 Athletics Carnival saw a return to Jubilee Park, after rain resulted in last year’s carnival held at school for the first time. The day saw students from all Houses compete with fantastic spirit and the sheer number of competitors who participated in track and field events is to be commended. House pride was on the line and the House Leaders and Captains led the way from the beginning with some very entertaining House Chants. After a cool start in the morning, the day and competition heated up. There were some outstanding individual performances at the carnival. Last year 6 athletes broke records in 8 individual events. In 2015, athletes took full advantage of the excellent facilities at Jubilee with 14 students breaking an astounding 20 individual records.

Thanks must also go to all the staff who adapted to unfamiliar roles and made such a successful day possible. Recognition must also go to our students, who looked past any obstacles on the day to truly represent Mater Dei values.
