From the Principal

Week 2 Term 1 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the 2022 school year!!!!  It is wonderful to be back "onsite" as a community and every effort will be made to ensure it remains that way.  I have taken the opportunity during the first few days to visit classrooms. The students should be extremely proud of the positive manner in which they have started the school year.  All students were on task and engaged in their learning. The students have been sharing stories of holiday destinations, adventures  and catch ups. For many, this has been the first opportunity in quite a while to do so. It has been great listening to them.

The staff officially commenced school on Friday of last week  and were involved in a day of professional learning. I was in at work on many days during the holidays and on most occasions there were staff onsite preparing their classrooms to ensure that your child/ren would have a great start to the year. For this I thank our dedicated staff.

We welcome all our new Prep students to St Bede's.  We trust they will enjoy many years of learning at St Bede's. Penelope, Lucia, Jack, Leo, Jayden, Alessia, Sophia, George, Aiden, Xavier, Gigi, Marianna, Sabina, Sky, Sadie, Alessia, Isla, Xavier, James, Jordan, Annabel, Charlie

Camp

Our Yr.5 students are currently on camp at Anglesea. From all reports they are having a wonderful time. In consultation with our parent community it was decided that the children would attend camp. All COVID safe practices have been put into place for the safety of all.

Wish the Yr 6s all the best for their camp next week.

COVID Testing

Many families have collected their RAT packs for Weeks 1 and 2.  If you have not yet had the chance to come and collect them please contact the office.  There is a box of 5 for every child which covers the first two weeks. I will let you know once we receive our allocation of RATS for weeks 3 and 4.

School Uniform

Just a reminder that all students should be wearing their full summer uniform.  It is pleasing to see that most children are.  I do however ask that you please ensure that your child is wearing the correct  school socks. These are grey with green hoops for boys and white socks for girls.  For sport they are required to wear white socks without any logos.

Have a great week

Brian
