For our departing Year 12 students,  good luck on all your endeavours and please remember, you can make contact at any time for advice and support. I have sent invitations out for our Year 12 Morning tea on December 16 at 11.00am, I hope to see you all there for other delicious treats and advise on future pathways.

I will be available on that day please make a time. Round 1 offer are released on 14 January 2022 andI will be available via email and WebEx during the change or preference period see attached COP document.

It can get very busy, so it is a good idea to make a time with me, so you are not waiting, and we can explore all your pathway choices to ensure your selected preferences give you every opportunity once you have received your results. I am available to all 2021 Year 12 students to discuss and provide information about study and employment choices.

Year 10 students going into Year 11 in 2022, VCAL

I hope you are organising your SWL placements, I have responded to requests from the SWL portal, please make sure you are checking emails and respond. Remember it is very competitive to get a good work placement, starting early is key and prompt responses to requests is essential, so again please regularly and respond to emails

Year 9 students going in to Year 10 in 2022

This year saw your completion of the Morrisby report. This should have helped with your subject selection and has hopefully guided your search for work experience in 2022.

The Work Experience week is yet to be confirmed, I will be emailing you all and posting the date on compass. Please make a big effort to think about and once we have the date finalise your Work Experience placement over the break, it’s a great opportunity to research and go along and introduce yourself to employers. As soon as you return in 2022 with the details of the organisation/employer I will produce the official paperwork that you will need to have signed by the employer, parents and back to the school for final sign off by Mrs Major.

This ensures you are covered by the Department of Education’s insurance, and we have all the details to ensure you are safe and we can visit you during the program, without these completed documents students cannot go on a Work Experience placement.

We will be working during class to complete the Safe at Work General Module and the module relating to your area of work.

Year 8 students going into Year 9 in 2022

In 2022 you will be completing your Morrisby profile. This is a very exciting program and includes individualised reports and an opportunity for interviews with external Career practitioner, parents/carers are encouraged to attend these interviews and will be notified of times once we have the schedule.

I will be available to offer further understanding of the report and ongoing career support.  Information and permission forms will be coming home at the start of the year and will need to be returned by the due date. This is a great program and gives you an opportunity to further investigate your careers pathways and add to your CAP. It will also assist you in your subject selection and elective selection.

Year 7 students going into Year 8 in 2022. Congratulations you have completed your first year of Secondary School. In 2022 we will be re visiting your Career Action Plans that we started in 2021 and investigating in more detail the suggested career and study interests and what pathways you can take to get you there.

During 2022 there will be range of Career related excursions and opportunities, parental permission is always required, timely response to notices is essential to ensure our students can participate in all these great opportunities. I encourage students and parents/carers to familiarise and visit the Scoresby Secondary Careers website: -https://scoresbysccareers.com regularly to keep up to date with information and opportunities relating to Careers
