Keeping you connected with Kilvington

Camilla Fiorini, Director of Marketing and Development

As a community, it is important that you know where to go to get information on what is happening at Kilvington in terms of your child, and more broadly.

COVID means we are sharing more updates than usual with you, and as such, there is the potential for experiencing communication fatigue. We will continue to try and phase our messages to minimise overwhelming you.

The best place to get the most up-to-date information is KCEE.

KCEE

KCEE is our Learning Management system where you can access and update information relating to your child including live academic results, calendar, events, activities, parent contact details in your child’s class or year level, and news.

Please remember to indicate within the Parent Portal whether you are happy to share your contact details with your child’s class/year level.

You can download the app from the App Store and set how you would like to receive notifications from us.

You will find KCEE support information on the left-hand side of your parent dashboard. New parents will have received access details including log-in details prior to commencing the new year. If you haven’t, please contact our IT Department on 9578 6231.

There is a daily News Bulletin with a new addition - a COVID Summary page. Here you will see a live status on the number of positive COVID cases at Kilvington.

CONSENT2GO

Consent2Go enables you to provide permission for your child to attend events, be photographed or filmed for Kilvington’s various platforms, and update personal details including medical information.

FACEBOOK

OurKilvingtonFacebook  page is another way of staying in touch with events, activities and news. Our Class Social Representatives (CSA) have also set up Facebook groups for particular classes. Please reach out to your CSA to access your class FB group.

INSTAGRAM

We are also on Instagram –  search for kilvingtongrammarschool.

SCHOOL PUBLICATIONS

And, of course, you will receive the School newsletter – In the Know – each fortnight. You will also receive School magazine KNews mid-year and the Kilvonian (student yearbook) at the end of the year.

KILVINGTON FOOD AND CARE PROGRAM

The PFA kindly coordinates our Kilvington Food and Care Program for families who need some TLC through challenging times. Please contact Bianca Lapins on lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au if you or someone you know in our community could do with some extra support.

KILVINGTON COMMUNICATIONS SURVEY

Each year, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and rate how we are communicating with you. Thank you to all parents who completed the survey at the end of 2021. We received some excellent insights.

However, you don’t have to wait for the survey to provide your feedback. Feel free to contact me via fiorinic@kilvington.vic.edu.cau or Bianca Lapins, lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au with your questions, concerns or feedback.

Homestay host families wanted

Alan Clarke, International Students Coordinator

With Australia's borders reopening, it is anticipated that the number of international students studying at Kilvington will grow over the next 6 to 12 months.

Some of these students will need a Homestay family to live with and we are seeking hosts in the following categories:

  • Emergency Homestay families - to host students who are currently at Kilvington but may need to change accommodation at short notice.
  • Long-term Homestay families - to host students who will be here for 12 months or more.
  • Short-term Homestay families - to host students who are here on exchange from one of our sister schools in China, France or Japan.

To learn more about this opportunity, please contact me at clarkea@kilvington.vic.edu.au.

Camps, sports and  excursions fund (CSEF)

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities. If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF.

Parent applications close on 24 June. Please find more information in the flyer below.

Flexischools canteen online ordering system

Senior School students can now order their lunch online via the Flexischools system. Flexischools is an online ordering system which allows you to place all your canteen orders online at any time.

The pick-up system of lunch orders from the canteen will remain unchanged. Flexischools is just another option available alongside cash and credit card tap.

To get started, download the Flexischools app from the App Store or Google Play. For information on how to set up your account, click here

Once registered, you can start placing orders immediately. If you have any questions, please visit Flexischool’s FAQ page. Attached is a flyer with further information.

We hope this step forward will support families with a more convenient and efficient process of placing canteen orders.
