Cybersafety

iPads are being prepared for learners in Grade 3 - 6 at this time.

The iPad user agreement is being reviewed and will be sent home next week.

We are working towards finding a date for Grant Fitzgerald from Catholic Education Sandhurst to come to St Joseph's to present a Cybersafety evening.

This evening will be compulsory for all learners and a parent/carer in Grades 5/6 if they wish to take their iPad home. Learners and their families across the school will be welcome to this evening.

We intend to begin at 5.30 pm with a sausage sizzle, with the presentation to begin at 6.00 pm.

A date is to be confirmed. Families will be informed as soon as this is finalised.

St Joseph's encourages appropriate use of social media.

At times interactions outside of school is brought into the school yard. We ask that parents/carers monitor their child's use of social media and maintain open communication at all times. This will support a conversation between you and your child should something happen face-to-face or online that makes them feel uncomfortable.

Staff will not encourage talk about apps that are not age appropriate.

Reminder: Learners are not to bring mobile phones/smart watches to school. If a learner is required to bring these devices to school they must be given to the classroom teacher who will store them in a secure place for the day.
