Social Justice in Action!

We can make it happen anywhere!

A big congratulations to Zahra in 3/4 and Zoey in 1/2 for taking initiative and helping sick children.

The girls have been growing their hair since mid 2019 and decided to donate it to Variety Children's Charity called 'Hair with Heart' during the holidays. Zahra donated 41 cm and Zoey 38 cm. Here is the interview that our Social Justice Captains conducted with both girls.

Hi Zahra and Zoey,

We’re Marcus and Hazel, the SJV Social Justice captains and we want to ask you some questions about your donation of your hair. We love your initiative and you’re inspiration to all of us. You both had really long hair.

1. How did it feel when you cut your hair?

Zahra: I felt nervous that I would lose my hair forever. Before I cut my hair it was up to my hip.

Zoey: It felt great. And I was excited and happy.

2. Where did your hair go?

Zahra: It would go to a variety of children.

Zoey: They will donate it to a place that makes wigs.

3. What are they going to do with your hair?

Zahra: They will give it to the shop that makes wigs, and give it to a factory to give it to children with cancer and no hair.

Zoey: Make wigs and give it to people who lost their hair.

4. How could others get involved?

Zahra: They could look up information from the charity to find out more

Zoey:  You could get involved but you MUST get permission from your parents
