STUDENT FREE DAY-FRIDAY 11TH AUGUST

Friday 11th August is a student free day; STUDENTS DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL.  Kingswood Primary is hosting its annual ICT STEAM Conference for educators across the state.  We anticipate over 400 delegates attending.  For Kingswood it is an opportunity to showcase our facilities and present workshops on some of the innovative learning your children are doing at school.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST MUSICAL

Kingswood is presenting Broadway Junior's 'Beauty and the Beast'. Cast A is performing on 11th-13th September and Cast B is performing on 13th – 15th September.  Tickets for the performances will go on sale next term.

PARENT CLUB FACEBOOK

The school has an official Kingswood Primary School Parent Club Facebook page; we encourage you to join as a way of keeping up to date with school events and activities.

To request access to this group, you will need to answer the following three questions:

Who is your child?

What class are they in?

What is your relationship to the child?

KINGSWOOD ON SHOW

We've had several educators visit our school in the past few weeks (principals, teachers, Monash University lecturer) viewing our programs and talking to staff.  These educators have givenus positive feedback. In summary, they note the consistency of teaching practice across the school, Visible Thinking & Habits of Mind, great displays, engaging classrooms, ICT rich and a wide range of programs.

Our Year 5/6 STEAM Fair was also another opportunity for students to showcase their work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.  It was wonderful to see parents, students, special guests and visitors attend the fair. Students took great pride in their work and were eager to share their learning with others.  Congratulations to the specialist teachers for an outstanding STEAM Fair. I would also like to congratulate the Year 3/4 students for their Expo; again, students were able to demonstrate their learnings about Australian history in a very practical way .

FACILITIES UPDATE

At Kingswood Primary School we take great pride in our facilities and feel that it is important to keep our school looking fresh and up todate. Therefore I would like to report the new Performing Arts storeroom and visitors’ toilets have been completed and are operational. During the school holidays, the Administration building will be freshened up with painting and new carpet. The bike shed will be ready for students to use when we return from the school holidays in Term 3.

END OF TERM 2 - EARLY DISMISSAL

I would like to thank the staff and students for all their hard work in Term 2. It has been a busy term and I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday break.  Our final assembly for the term starts at 1:30PM.  Students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 2:30pm on Friday 30th June.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Luke Mirabella and his family who welcomed a healthy baby girl named Billie into the world earlier this week.
