Around The Primary

Dear Parents

On Thursday our Years 3 - 6 students participated in the Interhouse Athletics Carnival. It was a very busy and exciting day and there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout each of the Houses. Well done to all the students that tried their personal best and also displayed great sportsmanship. Special thanks to Mr Williams for coordinating the carnival and to the many staff and parents who assisted on the day. Well done to our Champion House – Koolyangarra and also to Loreto House for winning the Spirit Award.

Our Primary Open Night is on Monday 23 September from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.  All classrooms will be available for parents to visit and to celebrate with your children their learning journey.  Feel free to browse every room not just your own child’s classroom because there are wonderful work samples to see in every space of the school.  Please extend the welcome to your wider family, it would be great to see grandparents too.

This night is part of the Primary School’s reporting process.  As such, while your child is touring you around their classroom, encourage them to explain to you their learning journey.  It is important that they explain to you what they learnt and the process involved with particular learning activities.

It is important to note that Open Night is not an occasion for a brief teacher interview about your child’s progress as the staff need to be available to everyone visiting their classrooms.  From 5.00pm onwards you might like to make your way to the Library Courtyard or Library to experience some of the musical talents from our students.

The schedule for the performances will be as follows:

TimeVenueEnsemble
5:00pm to 5:30pmLibrary CourtyardYear 5 Band & Primary Band
5:45pm to 6:15pmLibrary Courtyard

Mini Minors &

String Orchestra

6:30pm to 7:00pmLibraryWanju Voices & Primary Singers

All students performing on the night need to wear their school uniform.

I’m sure you will find the evening an enjoyable and rewarding experience with your family.

Jodi Joyce, our wonderful Assistant Principal, and Ross are looking forward to the birth of their first child. Jodi will be leaving us at the end of next week to prepare for the new arrival. We wish Jodi and Ross them every blessing as they commence their special role as parents.

Kind regards,

Mud Glorious Mud!

Last Wednesday the Kindy children enjoyed a fantastic incursion with Trudie from Educated by Nature. There were many different sensory mud and clay stations for the children to explore with their hands, feet and whole bodies. It was very exciting and fun for everyone, not to mention super messy!
