Metamorphic Rocks

Our class made metamorphic rocks using food so we could understand how rocks can become metamorphic rocks by adding heat and pressure.

My group used different foods to make layers for our metamorphic rocks.  The group used biscuits, chocolate, marshmallows and lollies.  Biscuits were used on the first layer and last layer, chocolate on the second layer, marshmallows on the third layer and the fourth layer was lollies.

Once the layering was finished, we put it in the microwave to add heat.  After that was done, we added pressure to flatten it and then we put it into the fridge to cool.
