MSJ Student selected to attend U.S. Space & Rocket Centre

Year 12 MSJ student Paige Maynard-Buckler has been selected to attend the Honeywell Leadership Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama USA. Well done Paige and we hope you enjoy your adventure. 

Opera Talent

Congratulations to Emilie Washington for being selected for the Victorian Opera production of 'Cunning Little Vixen'. 

 

Emilie's enormous talent will be an asset for the production and a wonderful experience for Emilie.

Hockey Hero

Gwendolyn Lynch has been selected for the U18 Victorian Women's hockey team. Gwendolyn will represent Victoria at a National  tournament in Hobart from the 19 April to the 29 April 2017.

This is a fantastic achievement and we wish Gwendolyn and her team mates the very best of luck. Go Victoria!

Swimming Superstar

Bianca Mathews (Year 8) will be attending the Australian Age & Open Championships in Brisbane from Sunday 16 to Sunday 23 April 2017. She will be competing in the 18 and Under 4 x 100 metre freestyle relay and the 16 and under 100 metre medley relay. This is wonderful news and we wish Bianca a speedy swim!

 

Community Champions

The Most Inspirational Young Persons Award at Hobson's Bay Youth Services has been awarded to MSJ students, Ella Bibby, Charlotte Cameron,  Emilie Washington and  Olivia Mallia. This awards recognises the contributions Ella, Charlotte, Emilie and Olivia have made to Hobson's Bay and the wider community.

 

The awards will be presented at the National Youth Week Celebration. Along with a certificate, the students will also receive a $100 visa gift voucher. Congratulations girls, you are truly inspirational.

Theatre Star

The bright lights of the theatre will soon be shining down on MSJ Year 8 Student, Kaitlyn Stathakis. Kaitlyn has been selected to appear in the Bonnie Lythgoe pantomine production of 'The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell' at the State Theatre in July. The cast also includes some famous musical theatre actors such as Todd MCKinney (Boy From Oz). Kaitlyn is pictured here with Bonnie Lythgoe. Well done Kaitlyn!

Budding Photographer

Year 7 MSJ Student, Victoria Butera's passion for photography has been rewarded by being named as the winner of the Rockley Fleur Award, a Focus Force Kids with Cameras award for the overall best close up of a flower. Victoria's award winning photo will be on display at this year's Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. Here is Victoria's stunning image.
