Around The Primary

Dear Parents

It was fantastic to see so many parents attend the Parent Information Evenings this week. The opportunity for parents to be informed by their child’s class teacher about some key aspects of the particular year level is most valuable. In talking with parents over the course of the evenings there was a real sense of positivity and excitement. Many thanks to the teachers for their efforts in conducting these evenings.

If you were unable to attend the information sessions, the presentations can be located on SEQTA. Please take the time to read through the information provided by the teachers as it may answer any questions you have in the future.

A big thank you to parents for ensuring your children are in the correct uniform - the children looked very smart around Primary this week.

At today’s assembly we acknowledged our Year 6 leaders for 2019 and presented them with their Leader’s badge.  All of the Year 6 students are leaders in the Primary school and belong to a portfolio, such as ‘Community’, ‘Events’ and ‘Service’.  We also have 12 House Captains.

Being a Year 6 Leader is an honour and a privilege and provides the students with a great sense of responsibility and ‘service’ leadership in their final year of primary school. We wish them all the best as they undertake their leadership responsibilities and we look forward to seeing them hard at work in their various roles around our school. community.

We are very excited that over 670 tickets have been sold for our ‘Family Fun Picnic’ on Saturday. This occasion is a way of celebrating your child/ren’s first few weeks at the school, as well as, an opportunity to meet other parents and welcome new families to the John XXIII College community. Once again this promises to be a fabulous community gathering to start the school year. Special thanks to Mr Ric Del Pizzo for coordinating this event.

Just a reminder, please wear your parent badge to this event. Please email nancy.petsos@cewa.edu.au if you have not yet received your badge.

Kind regards,

Antoinette De Pinto
