PDHPE

Term 4 is off to a flying start, with Year 7 and 9 PDHPE classes participating in striking and fielding games, such as Softball,

T-ball and Cricket, and looking to finish off the year with a variety of fitness activities later in the term.

Year 8 will focus on developing skills in net/wall games, participating in activities such as Table Tennis, Handball and Tennis. Students in Year 10 are being challenged with target games, including Archery, Darts, Bocce, Croquet and Tin Pin Bowling.

Child Studies

We have recently had the privilege of collaborating with the Community Kids Lake Albert childcare facility; with Year 9 Child Studies students participating in planning and delivering physical activity sessions for preschool children. The students have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Early Learning Framework and facilitating engaging and age-appropriate activities each week during Term 3. This term students are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to care for the Virtual Baby for a day.

Exploring Early Childhood

Continuing this partnership with Community Kids Lake Albert, Year 11 students have spent an hour each week in the childcare centre, observing, interacting and learning about the needs of young children. We are very grateful to the generous staff from Community Kids Lake Albert, for their expertise, assistance and support shown to the Mater Dei students.

PASS

Year 9 Physical Activity and Sports Studies students have been busy developing skills and preparing for their surf trip in Week 4. We wish them a safe trip and look forward to hearing all about it and sharing their adventures with you later in the Term.

We wish Year 12 PDHPE students all the best for their upcoming HSC exam and hope all their effort and hard work is rewarded, by achieving their best possible result.
