STEAM

Students have been working on their Bot Golfing Challenge. They have taken on roles such as Marketer, Team Manager and Coding Specialist, engaging with Micro-bits, Bit-bots and Mbots to code their way through four golfing courses.

Students are also using a variety of materials to create obstacles for their courses, designing team t-shirts and laser cutting flags. Year 8 will showcase their team's work during Week 4 to students from local primary and high schools.

They will start the Solar Car Challenge in Week 5, where they design solar cars, create modifications and participate in some racing.

Students reflect regularly, creating thoughtful insights into their learning via their E-Portfolio. Year 8 students have now submitted their work on Canvas. This will provide supportive evidence of their skill development in the areas of collaboration, technology, communication, complex problem solving, critical thinking and creativity.

Canberra Excursion

Students participated in the STEAM Excursion to Canberra where they visited Questacon, the National Arboretum and participated in the CSIRO Robotics Workshop.
