It gives me great pleasure to announce to the school community the key positions of responsibility held by Families & Friends. We congratulate the following amazing parents for taking an active role in making South Melbourne Park a place where children love to be. Families and Friends help build family connectedness by organising social events and raise much needed funds for the school. Monies from 2022 fundraising projects will help pay for the new Year 2-6 play equipment.

The 2021 School Council Reporting to Parents report and the School Annual Report is presented to the school community at our ‘Reporting to Parents Evening’ held on Wednesday 30 March at 6:00PM. All parents are cordially invited to attend this face-to-face meeting. We will also be live streaming this meeting via Google Meet.
Please RSVP via this link if you are attending in person. The 2021 Annual Report will be available on Compass and on our school website.
Ms Tiffany Pantano (Year 1B teacher) is leaving at the end of the Term 1 to have her baby. I am pleased to announce that we have appointed Ms Evangeline Vieira-Miller to take the class as soon as students return to school in Term 2. Ms Viera-Miller is an experienced teacher and has just returned from a year of travelling around Australia, she is very much looking forward to joining the South Melbourne Park teaching team.
Due to the Australian Grand Prix race there is no access to the school on Thursday April 7 and Friday April 8. Students’ last day at school for Term 1 is on Wednesday April 6. As learning doesn’t just happen at school, the teachers have planned excursions on Thursday April 7. We ask that you observe the drop off and pick up times specified on the excursion information.
Friday April 8, is a Curriculum Day (Pupil Free Day). The teachers will be learning about the latest research on how best to teach Mathematics to primary age students.
Parents are reminded that the Department of Education and Training does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students. Parents and guardians or students, who do not have student accident insurance/ambulance cover, are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance or transport as well as any other transport costs.
