Careers News 2017

Careers information will be published in the College newsletter. Careers news and information that appears in the newsletter is not specifically targeted at any particular year group. It is recommended that students and parents from all year groups read the careers section in the College newsletter. In many cases the newsletter is the only form of communication for careers information.

Forms of Communication

The main forms of communication for careers related activities are via newsletters, Homegroup notices and students emails. I also regularly meet with students in Year 10, 11 and 12 to discuss upcoming events. All senior students are encouraged to monitor these forms of communication on a regular basis. Careers activities that are Year group specific are detailed below.

  • Year 12 - Careers information that is specific to Year 12 students will NOT normally appear in the College newsletter. Year 12 students will receive a more detailed careers newsletter via email. This newsletter will contain up to date information regarding careers, job opportunities, internships, open days, universities, gap years, early entry, bonus points, scholarships and much more. Year 12 parents will also be sent a copy of this newsletter.
  • Year 11 - Year 11 students will be emailed careers information that is relevant to them. Year 11 students are encouraged to check their emails on a regular basis.
  • Year 10 - Year 10 students will have 2 careers lessons a fortnight. Careers information that is specific to Year 10 students will be disseminated in these lessons. Year 10 students are also encouraged to check their emails for periodic careers information.
  • Year 9 - Year 9 students are encouraged to monitor Homegroup notices for activitites that might interest them. Certain groups of Year 9 students are also targeted for careers related activities.
