Swimming Program

Families should have received notification about the upcoming swimming program scheduled for March. The program is compulsory and forms part of the Victorian Curriculum and the students' learning.

Swimming and Water Safety fall under the curriculum area of Health and Physical Education. The Health and Physical Education curriculum includes four focus areas which have specific reference to swimming and water safety. These are:

  • Fundamental movement skills
  • Safety
  • Lifelong physical activities

Development of knowledge and skills relating to survival swimming and basic water safety can significantly reduce a child’s drowning risk and enhance community safety.

Please ensure all relevant student information and permissions are completed as soon as possible.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or myself.

NAPLAN

The Year 3 and 5 students will be engaging in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) in May this year. For the first time, this will be completed online. A coordinated Practice Test will be completed by the students in March to prepare them for the new NAPLAN delivery.

A NAPLAN Flyer for parents will be distributed this week which includes information about the assessment. Please check your child's school bag for this.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on the email below or by phone.
