2022 Kilvonian Konnections event - Guest speaker, Julia Banks

Following on from our International Women’s Day breakfast, where students and staff enjoyed an outstanding keynote address on gender equity from Kilvington Alumni, Shelly Penn, we are delighted to invite you to our 2022 Kilvonian Konnections event.

Our guest speaker, Julia Banks, also Kilvington Alumni, is a fierce advocate for gender equity, alongside peers such as Christine Holgate, Brittany Higgins and Grace Tame. She is also a former Member of the Federal Parliament of Australia.

Julia’s keynote address: Gender Equality – Are We There Yet? will draw on her high-profile experiences under the leadership of former Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, and current Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, and she will share with you how collectively we can support the move to gender equity.

This event is open to parents, staff and Years 10 to 12 students.

SchoolTV Special Report: Managing overwhelm

Due to the pandemic, recent world events in the Ukraine and impacts of the floods in Queensland and NSW, the world we now live in is a very different place.

The hyperconnected nature of our current environment means that we are constantly being reminded of the challenges we face via numerous media and social media channels. Our connectivity to the digital world exposes us to a barrage of messages that can leave us feeling overwhelmed.

This Special Report suggests a number of strategies to help manage any feelings of overwhelm that you or your child may be experiencing. We hope you take a moment to reflect on the information offered, and as always, we welcome your feedback.

If this raises any concerns for you, a loved one or the wellbeing of your child, please seek medical or professional help.

Request for prop for Mamma Mia - old rowboat or dingy

We are looking for a small old rowboat or dingy as a propfor Mamma Mia, our School Production. Wood or metal is fine, and it certainly does not need to be in top condition.

It will be very well looked after if you need it returned after the production, or we can dispose of it for you afterwards.

If you have an old one that you no longer use, or know of someone who has one, please email John Knap at knapj@kilvington.vic.edu.au.
