Extending our Students
Summer Program 2022 - University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education
The Summer Program is a free program offered by the University of Melbourne to students entering Year 9 or 10. It provides students with an opportunity to broaden their outlook and interests and encourages their academic learning and personal development. Classes were held on a variety of topics and subjects.
Congratulations to the following students who completed the four-day program between January 10-13 2022:
Bruce Roberts (Year 9), Jai Littlepage, Ankita Patel, and Mandana Mohammadi (Year 10).
They thoroughly enjoyed the classes, especially the forensic classes, and received certificates for their completion of the program.
Year 7 ACE History Extension
After discussing ‘What is History?’ in class, the Year 7 ACE History students were asked to write an extension piece evaluating the statement
‘By understanding the past, we can better understand the present and prepare for the future’. The students explored the meaning of the statement, whether they agreed with it, and then provided evidence to support their argument. They had some very interesting ideas, and articulated them well during their class discussion.
Two of the responses are included from the ACE class: from Jesse Wang and Tali Humphreys 7I.
By understanding the past, we can better understand the present and prepare
for the future.
