Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

It has been wonderful to observe our students settling into Term 1 and the new school year! We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their support of our students and continued assistance with this.
We acknowledge there have been challenges and sadness experienced by our school community and we continue to pray for those who are experiencing struggles, loss, grief or hardship during this time. A reminder that if you would like additional support for your student, please contact your student’s Learning Mentor and/or the Wellbeing Team (wellbeing@sje.vic.edu.au).

Uniform
We pride ourselves on the synchronicity, tradition and sense of belonging our uniform provides for our students and school community. Our uniform items can be accessed from Hip Pocket, Echuca. Please support us in ensuring your students have full school uniform. You may refer to our summer uniform items for clarification if needed. Please remember that sports uniform is only to be worn on specified days where your student has practical PE classes or Drama. Technology and Science classes require leather shoes for occupational health and safety. Overall, the uniforms are looking fabulous, thank you!
Front Office Support
Please remember if you wish to contact your student during the school day (or they need to contact you) this should be done through the Front Office. This enables us to best support your student and ensure information is distributed appropriately and effectively, and any follow up, management and assistance is in place. A reminder that mobile phones are not to be used during the school day.
PAUSE before you Post - School Wide Positive Behaviour
Our Positive Behaviour Framework includes how we interact with others and behave online. Our acronym P.A.U.S.E before you post, refers to ensuring that what you are putting out on social media, the internet and messages is Positive, Accurate, Useful, Supportive and Ethical. We regularly have conversations with students who have been affected by the online behaviour of others, or who have inadvertently impacted others by what they have put online. We encourage you to have regular conversations with your student around their online behaviour and engagement to increase their understanding, awareness, skills and strategies about healthy and positive habits online.
Learning Mentor Meetings
Learning Mentor meetings are fast approaching! This is a wonderful opportunity to make contact with your student’s LM and discuss the year so far, what is working well, clarify any questions or concerns and discuss goals, habits, plans and support for your student. We look forward to meeting with you online!
Driving to School
We understand that many of our students are excited to gain their licence and drive to school. We know that there are times when they may need to transport passengers to and from school such as siblings. To support us in our care of your student with this, please ensure that you and your student have completed the ‘Driving to School’ form, available on SIMON, if they are a driver or passenger and provide this information to the Front Office.
