Livcare Update

Welcome to the Livingston kindergarten community. For our new families, Livcare is our extended care program. It provides an opportunity for our parents to access longer hours and also for the children to extend their social skills in an environment that is play based for our 3 and 4 year old groups. 

In Livcare we have started the year by getting to know each other from our combined groups as well as the new educators. The Livcare Educators also work in each of the 3 and 4 year old groups at Livingston Kindergarten, so they are able to build secure attachments and are aware of your child's needs and interests as we get to know each other. 

They have enjoyed exploring a shared environment and we have incorporated activities and provocations based on their own interests. We also acknowledge the longer days and have incorporated a healthy mind and body relaxation program incorporating yoga, mindfulness and/or meditation. This term we have been practicing some Australian animal yoga poses, listening to music with beats and soft tones, as well as some listening stories. We also replenish in the afternoon with our snack and water. 

Your kinder teachers are in constant communication, via a diary, with the Livcare educators if something specific could be extended in the Livcare program or any relevant information needs to be passed on upon pick up.
