In each edition of Connections we will publish our star award winners. These students have been nominated by staff for their efforts in one or more of the following categories; contribution to our school community, personal endeavour or academic excellence. One student from each year level is selected to be the star.
In addition to our star nominations, each week staff write green chronciles for deserving students. Have you received one yet? Login to Compass to check.

Year 7- Chloee Duits
Our Year 7 Manager, Mrs Morley, is really pleased with the way Chloee has started her time at HHS. According to Mrs Morley, Chloee is a positive and cheerful member of 7A and the wider Year 7 cohort. She is always attentive, keen to do well and enjoys participating in all class activities. She happily assists other students and teachers and this has not gone unnoticed, with many of her teachers writing green chronicles to acknowledge Chloee’s positive contribution. Well done, Chloee!
Year 8- Lyndsay Mackenzie
Mrs Nedumannil has been very impressed by Lyndsay’s approach to her studies in Mathematics. She always works solidly for the entire lesson and in addition to this, she helps other students and shows initiative. That’s what we like to see! Lyndsay is a responsible, caring and organised person and we are lucky to have her as a student at HHS. Congratulations, Lyndsay
Year 9- Taya Morley
Mrs Dell and Mrs Mitchell both nominated Taya. Mrs Dell was impressed by Taya’s willingness to help out with yard duty, even when she wasn’t rostered on. She did this without being asked when she saw Mrs Dell completing this task on her own. Mrs Mitchell has nominated Taya for her work in English. Mrs Mitchell has been pleased with Taya’s focus, her contribution to class discussions and her cheerful attitude. Keep up the great work, Taya!
Year 10- Pat Millman
Pat has impressed Ms Koutkos in many ways. She believes he represents the values of HHS in an exemplary manner and is an ideal student in her media classroom. He engages in class discussion in a mature and insightful way, he seeks feedback and puts an immense amount of effort into all set tasks. He is happy and upbeat and his presence enhances the learning environment. In addition to all of this, Pat uses his own technical expertise to help out his peers. Great job, Pat!
Year 11- Reece Smith
Mr Nedumannil has been super impressed by Reece’s approach to his studies in Chemistry. Reece is an aspirational student and according to Mr Nedumannil, he has started the year with a methodical and disciplined approach. Reece is working well in class and is completing all tasks to a high standard. Congratulations, Reece! We look forward to seeing what you can achieve this year.
Year 12- Sienna Muke
Sienna’s teachers have all commented on her willingness to do the work required to be successful. In particular, Mrs Jackson is very happy with the way Sienna is approaching her studies in English. She has completed all written tasks to the best of her ability, sought feedback and has been determined to implement advice with a view to improving her writing. Sienna contributes insightfully to class discussion and has been proactive in applying strategies to develop her written expression. Well done, Sienna! We know you work hard and we are pleased to acknowledge you for this.
