Then and Now

Here’s a very young and cute Shane Coady. This photograph was taken in the seventies in the driveway of his parents’ Studfield house. The Volkswagen Beetle in the background was one of two owned by his parents. Mr Coady wanted to be just like them, so they purchased him a toy beetle, complete with two pedals! It was one of Mr Coady’s favourite toys.

A few years after this photo was taken, Mr Coady’s dad converted one of the family beetles into a buggy. Mr Coady remembers having fun driving the converted car at a family friend’s property, in Bonnie Doon, however, the fun came to an end when his father sold the buggy for $300.

Although he isn’t into cars as much as his dad, Mr Coady does like a Volkswagen and one of his previous cars was a Volkswagen Passat. These days, Mr Coady is more into motorcycles. He recently purchased his second one and is waiting for it to arrive from Cairns. We look forward to seeing it in the carpark!
