Library

I am so grateful to be back at Killester. My time here as a student is overflowing with wonderful, joyous memories. I also remember moments of difficulty, challenging moments within my classes, trying to find my place, to fulfil expectations of parents and teachers. In the years that followed, I have learnt not to fear change, that challenge helps you grow and even if things don’t work out as planned, there is always a lesson to be learnt.
Books and libraries have always been a constant companion throughout my life. It is an absolute privilege to be working in the library at Killester, to be part of such an amazing community of staff and students. The library is always a hive of activity, so many things to do.
The Premier’s Reading Challenge will be starting soon, Makerspace on Tuesdays at lunchtime, (next week we are making pin wheels), and Mrs Scott has been buying lots of new books. If we don’t have what you want, let us know or visit our suggestion monkey. I am currently reading ‘The Yearbook Committee’ by Sarah Ayoub which is about five teenagers from very different backgrounds, who are forced to work together on their school yearbook. I highly recommend it. Please visit the library and tell me what you are reading. ‘Because that’s what Hermione would do...when in doubt, visit the Library’ - Ron Weasley.
