Introducing our instrumental music teachers
Alison Budgen Flute
LMusA, BA, Grad. Dip Applied Child Psychology, M. Psych (Clinical)
Alison studied Music Performance at the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and at the Conservatoire de Bourg-la-Reine (Paris, France).
She began teaching the flute in 1989 during her university studies and has taught students ranging in age from 7 to over 70!
Alongside her musical career, Alison has also worked as a Psychologist and Management Consultant based in London and Melbourne. She has been a guest speaker at International Conferences on the topic of Emotional Intelligence in learning, development and education.
Alison has taught flute at Killester College since 2016 and enjoys working with both private students and the year 7 and 8 band classes.
For everyone's information the following ensembles are rehearsing:
- Concert Band - Monday 3.15-4.15pm
- Soul Collective - Tuesday 3.15-4.15pm
- Honk - Thursday 3.15-4.00pm
- Bollywood Fusion - Thursday Lunchtime in Tullow
- Swing Sisters will be starting once Ms Garafolo gets back from her honeymoon!
- Senior Vocal group will be restarting in the next two weeks.
Our performance plan ( tentatively Covid based) looks like this:
- Thursday March 24th - Tunes from Tullow 5.00pm (outdoors) featuring all the ensembles + soloists
- Thursday June 16 - Year 7 / 8 Band program Concert #1. 5.00pm & 6.00pm in Tullow featuring the Semester One band students and some senior groups.
- Monday September 12 - School Concert 7.30pm- TSpringvaleown Hall
- Thursday November 24th - Year 7/8 Band program Concert #2. 5.00pm & 6.00pm in Tullow featuring the Semester Two band students and some senior groups.
