Nunga News

Niina Marni,

At the end of last term, Nunga Group made lemon myrtle cupcakes using the lemon myrtle from our very own bush tucker garden, near the entrance to the school on Woodhead St. Our garden will be having a face lift soon with new signage to explain what each plant is for and how it was used traditionally by Aboriginal people. We will also be adding new plants to the garden in the coming weeks.

Our school has a Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group which meets once a term to discuss how we incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in the classroom and in the wider school community. We are currently looking for new members to join our group, so if you are interested, please let me know by emailing me at Katherine.moore26@schools.sa.edu.au. Our next meeting is on Thursday 20th May at 6.30pm.

Nukkan!
