ANZAC DayThank you to our school captains Oliver Cokovski & Jamie-Marie Genito who represented Brookside College at this year’s ANZAC Day dawn service held at the Caroline Springs Town Centre. Oliver and Jamie-Marie were also joined at the service by various Brookside families.

Year 8 Camp

Year 8 students recently attended a 3 day camp at Waratah Beach Camp near Wilsons Promontory. Students had a wonderful time participating in various activities and engaging with their peers outside of the usual classroom setting. Thank you to the teachers who attended the camp and especially Ms. Chloe Karras for overseeing the organisation and preparations leading up to the camp.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. The tests cover skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy. This year NAPLAN will be conducted from Tuesday 11 May – Thursday 13 May, with catch up testing also available on Friday 14 May. We wish students all the best!

2020 Annual Report

The Annual Report is a document which provides an opportunity to share with the school community the year’s achievements and progress. This includes reflecting on the school’s performance and explaining the positive impact of school improvement efforts on student outcomes. We invite you to have a read of the 2020 Annual Report which is available on our website: https://brooksidecollege.vic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Annual-Report-2020.pdf

2022 Enrolments

Enrolments for 2022 are now open. We are offering school tours for prospective families who are interested in enrolling their child/ren to our college. Information pertaining to enrolments and registration for school tours can be found on our school website.

Lunchtime Clubs

Lunchtime Clubs continue to be a success this term as it provides an opportunity for students to engage with other students who share in similar interests. Some of the clubs include: Singing Club, Art Club, Drama Club, Cohort Games Club, Anime Club and Book Club. Thank you to all of the teachers involved for taking the time during their lunch hour to run these clubs for our students.

Cooler Weather

Although it has been lovely seeing and playing with all of the different coloured leaves that have fallen from the trees, it is also a reminder that cooler weather has arrived. At this time of the year the weather can be very unpredictable and can change very quickly - please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately according to the weather. Should your child wish to wear a beanie, scarf or gloves whilst outside, he/she may do so as long as the clothing items are school colours.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
