WHERE CHILDREN LOVE TO BE

I am grateful for…Our new Acting Assistant Principal, John Painter. John has temporarily joined from Hampton Primary on Mondays and Fridays and has settled straight into our school and the culture we are building. If you see him in the yard please go up to him and say hi and welcome him to our school.

Breakfast Club

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers for Breakfast Club! It has been amazing to see how many families have been coming out to have a healthy breakfast, and it is so good to have support from our community. We are always looking for more parent volunteers to help out with the breakfast club, if you are interested in coming on one of the days please contact the office (south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au) and they will be able to give you more details.

VIP Day

Our Families and Friends organised a lovely Mothers and Very Important Person Day last Friday morning, the 7th. This was a time for our students and families to come together to celebrate some of the important people in their lives. Everyone came together in the Drill Hall in the morning to share some food and spend time with one another. The coffee cart was very popular!

Missed School Photos

We have the School Photographer coming out for any of our students who missed our Photo Day.  They are coming out on Wednesday the 19th of May at 4:30 pm. Families will need to bring their child to the front office at 4:30 and they will have their photo taken. Please let the office know by emailing them at south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au so that they know to expect you. The photographers will be finished and packed up by 5:00 pm so please make sure you are on time.

Education Support Personnel DaySunday 16th May is Education Support Personnel Day. We have amazing ES staff here at South Melbourne Park Primary School. They include our amazing office staff, Christine, Kym and Magda, as well as our exceptional library technician Lisa, and our supremely hardworking Education Support Officers who work in the classrooms with your children. We are very lucky here to have the dedicated and hardworking people that we do, and it is a chance to celebrate their work. When you are in the school grounds next week please take a moment to thank them for all they do for the school. Without them we would not be able to be a place ‘where children love to be’.

Tutors

We have some families that are looking for out of school tutors that they would like to engage to support their children. If you know of any tutors looking for work please encourage them to contact the school and we can pass on their details to any families that are interested.
