Highlights of the week

Whats been happening at school this week

Mothers Day Stall

Last week we had our very special Mother's Day Stall organised by our wonderful Social & Fundraising Committee. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful community at our school and it really shows through events like this. The students had so many amazing options to buy, from beautiful potted plants, soaps, photo frames and much more. A huge THANK YOU  to everyone who donated for the stall - Parents and Businesses and of course a THANK YOU to our dedicated parents who came to help sell on the day. We couldn't run such great days like this with out you all.  We hope you all had a fabulous Mother's Day with your loved ones.

Garden Club 🌻

Garden Clubbers gathered over the last couple of weeks to assemble, fill and plant out two new garden beds. These beds are the starting point of the gradual relocation of our vegetable garden. Using the philosophy of companion planting, we have an assortment of broccoli, cauliflower, silverbeet, cabbage, kale, bok choy, lettuce, beetroot, comfrey, alyssum, lobelia, queen anne’s lace, calendula, & marigolds!

Thanks to everyone who helped out. Hopefully we shall be enjoying the fruits of our labours soon.

Here are some before, during and after photos.

On Thursday the 13th of May, the Year 1/2 s had a visit from Mad About Science.

3/4 News

Year 3-4 News

In Year 3, the students started their NAPLAN this week. We are very proud of all of them for having a go and trying their best. This is the biggest cohort of students that have completed the NAPLAN testing in several years.

In Year 3 and 4 we have been learning about time over the last two weeks. The children’s confidence has grown over the unit telling the time using analogue clocks.

Our text type focus is Information Reports. We are currently drafting a report about our fabulous school and all the important information about Le Page PS. Look out for some final pieces in the next newsletter.

Each Thursday we play 3-4 Sport in the afternoon. It is a lot of fun for everyone, and the children are learning some of the skills they will need for inter-school when they reach Year 5 and 6. It is wonderful to see how supportive the children are of each other, always cheering and helping each other.
