Cross Country

What a fabulous two weeks of cross country racing we have had! We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather at both our whole school and our district events. Not surprisingly, our students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and effort in all events and we managed to win third place in the district event as a school, with 12 of our students heading to Division on the 26th May. Good luck to all the students who have made it to the next round. We are very proud of everyone who has competed this year!

NAPLAN

Well done to all students in Grades 3 and 5 who completed NAPLAN this week. We were thoroughly impressed by the attitude of positivity and resilience towards completing the assessment and the respect shown by all by keeping our testing areas calm and peaceful on the testing days.

Mother's Day Breakfast

A very big thank you to everyone who helped to organise, run and enjoy this beautiful community event! We were once again fortunate to have sunshine last Friday morning and it was, in the words of one mum, "the best Mother's Day breakfast EVER!". All of this would not have been possible without our incredible admin staff and our parent helpers. Our students could hardly contain their excitement as they packed their gifts and cards in their schoolbags, planning where to hide them from Mum! A very big thank you to Mrs Gardner who managed to help over 400 students paint their own canvas for a special person in their lives.

Resilience Project Webinar

Great work to those that managed to log in and listen to Martin from "The Resilience Project" on Tuesday evening. It was fabulous to be reminded of the importance of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness in all that we do!

Mobile Phones at School

At MPS we understand that there are occasions where students need to bring a mobile phone to school. This may be because they walk to and from school independently, or they are going to a friend's house after school. We remind our students that unless they absolutely need to bring a phone, please leave them at home. In accordance with DET requirements, we also ask that students handover their phone to their class teacher once they have arrived at school so that it may be stored in a safe place and not become a distraction. If your child has recently been given a phone or needs to bring it to school for one of the above reasons, please make yourself familiar with the mobile phone policy available on our school website.

Lunch Clubs

This term we have another big range of lunch clubs on offer. Please have a look at the schedule below to see which clubs our teachers are running.

Education Week at Monty

Education Week is Week 6! This year, the theme for Education Week is “Building Connections”.

To celebrate, our Monty families are invited to join us on Monday 24th of May at 2:45pm in front of the outdoor stage area. We will officially introduce Education Week, then head to classrooms where your child will showcase a piece of their work.

More information to come. Keep your eyes on Compass!
