Winter Trials

The first round of Winter Sport for the senior school was to occur this Saturday 27 March against Trinity Grammar School. Given the recent weather and the number of trial sessions cancelled, it is with sadness that I write to inform the community that some age groups will unfortunately be inadequately prepared to take the field this weekend and as such, won’t play against Trinity Grammar School.

Weather permitting this Saturday 27 March, all students who nominated a winter sport will either play a fixture against Trinity Grammar School or be required to attend their age group’s internal trial at the College. A schedule for this Saturday will be published by Thursday 12.00pm via Team App and the College Sports Notice Boards.

Congratulations

Unfortunately, last Saturday’s NDJCA Grand Finals were cancelled due to the inclement weather. As per NDJCA playing conditions, teams with higher point/quotient were declared this year’s winners. Congratulations to the 14A Cricket team, who were guided by Mr Newman, have been declared Premiers for the 2020-21 Cricket season.

The RHBL Baseball Grand Finals were also cancelled due to the wet weather last Saturday. Fixtures have been rescheduled to take place this Saturday 27 March. Fingers crossed the rain ceases and the U/16s and 14 Gold teams can take to the field.

  • SPC U/16 vs Stealers Knox at Majors Bay, 8.30am.
  • SPC 14 Gold vs Rangers at Rofe Park, 9.00am.

In other sport news from last weekend, Dylan Parks of Year 10 competed in the NSW State Lead and Speed Titles held at Kirrawee and Villawood respectfully. I am pleased to report that in addition to his NSW State Bouldering Title, Dylan is now the NSW State Lead and Speed Title Champion after a successful weekend. Well done Dylan.
