National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence

Last week students at Teesdale Primary School participated in activities to support our involvement in the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. This event is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative, connecting schools and communities to find workable solutions to bullying and violence. Students participated in discussions and activities about bullying during their Digital Technologies classes last week as the formal day coincided with our Athletics Carnival.

In the Junior School, students created an anti-bullying display which can be seen on display in the Junior Building entrance.

Senior School Anti Bullying Activities

In the senior years we have been looking a lot at how we can interact positively and safely online. We have talked a lot about online gaming and how they can keep it a positive and safe place. They have discussed what to do when they are approached by people online that they do not know and also how to keep safe while playing online. Students highlighted that it is important to only play games with people that you know but if they are approached by a stranger online, that they should not reveal any personal information and that they should let an adult know. The 3/4s then used their creativity to design the front cover to a video game and explained how their game would be a positive space for people to interact socially online.
