Principal's Message

Mother’s Day

On Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a time of tribute and celebration for Mum. It is a time for spoiling mum with breakfast in bed, family gatherings, thoughtful presents, sharing memories and the simple words ‘I Love You Mum.’

On behalf of the Galilee community, I would like for us to say thank you to all the Galilee Mums. We very much appreciate all you do for our school each day.

During the month of May, we especially turn to Mary, our heavenly mother, in prayer. When we pray to her, through the Rosary, we reflect on her life and that of Jesus. She guides us on the path to being true disciples of Jesus. Pope Francis has had a lot to say about Mary at different times. He reminds us that Mary is not only a model to us as Christ’s mother, but that she is also a true disciple. He says that with her faith, “we learn to open our hearts to obey God; in her self-denial, we see the importance of tending to the needs of others; in her tears, we find the strength to console those experiencing pain.”

Let us Pray for our Mother’s:

We thank you, O Lord, for the

gift of Motherhood.

May those blessed with children be granted the gifts of courage, perseverance

and good health.

May they face each new day with faith and hope in your abiding love.

May all families find in the strength

of your love

The priceless gift of peace

And so bear witness to your glory.

Amen

As Mary was the model of prayer, of love, and of obedience to the will of God, by your grace make mothers holy and rich with your gifts. Bind families together in the bonds of peace and safety so that mothers will feel nurtured by love. May all mothers enjoy good health and spiritual well being to enable them to care for their families.

God bless all mothers, grandmothers and those who are like mothers to us.

She carried you in her arms

when you were a child.

She held your hand as you learned to walk.

She holds your hand when times are tough. She wipes away your tears, eases your fears,

takes pride in your achievements

and loves you unconditionally.

She is your Mother.
