Principal's Report

Principal's Report

I often talk about our community being at its best when we see care and connection between students, staff and parents & guardians. The parent teacher student conferences at the end of last term were a great example of that.

Another example is a recent student voice survey that looked at what we are doing well and what are our next steps across the school. It is a regular feature of our yearly improvement cycle at Staughton and particularly important this year as we have our School Review in Term 3. One of the findings was that an overwhelming majority of students felt that their teachers cared about them. This is very important in forming the positive relationship that is needed for effective learning.

Our students also looked at aspects of the learning environment that can improve. This feedback has been given to teachers as we have started Term 2. I would like to thank student voice leaders Jade- Amanda Falzon-Tabone and Layth Al-Artoufi for their work in gathering the feedback of students and communicating it with the school. Students will be watching it across the school in tutorial time this week. It is very important to us that we access student voice in continuing our improvement.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
