Principal's News

Dear Parents and Friends,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We are very excited to announce the safe arrival of little Baby 'Brooklyn Bajram'.   Bobby, Nina and big sister Annie (5/6H) welcomed Brooklyn into the world on Wednesday 21st of April. We have your enrolment pack ready and waiting Brooklyn!

ANZAC PRAYER SERVICE

We had a lovely and reverent prayer service at school last Friday to commemorate Anzac Day. It was so nice to see our children lay their flowers at our flagpole. The flowers were then collected, made into a bouquet and delivered to Mentone RSL by Mrs Marziano.  The RSL laid our bouquet at their ANZAC Service on our behalf.

Sadly, Covid restrictions meant we were not permitted to participate in the ANZAC Day march and service as we normally do.

STAFF CHANGES

At the beginning of Term 2 Mrs Che Soon Lee announced her retirement.  Mrs Lee has been teaching Korean at St Brigid's for the past  10 years.  We will farewell Mrs Lee this term.  Miss Alysse Pirovano has accepted a full time teaching position at South Melbourne Primary School and she will finish up with us in two weeks.  We wish Alysse well at she resumes her fulltime teaching career.  Ms Trisha Beamish will take over Alysse's positon in 4F.  Trisha has worked with us this year as a relief teacher.  Welcome to St Brigid's Trisha.

MOTHERS DAY ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOL

Friday 30th April

We have a ‘mini market’ which will be set up in Brigid Hall and it will run from 2:30 - 4pm. This mini market is for parents to purchase gifts for their mothers or a gift for themselves. It is not a market for the students.

Thursday 6th May

Mother Day Stall for the students. This will occur in the Hall during the day, where the children will be called up to visit the stall with their money. Thank you to the 1/2 parents who have been very busy organising the presents for the children and we have a lovely variety of gifts for the children to purchase.

Friday 7th May

Mothers Day Breakfast will commence at 7:30am until 9:00am. Children will be supervised in a classroom watching a video. We are celebrating Mother's Day outside around the Coffee Caravan. We are thrilled that we have 91 Mums coming to share breakfast with us at St Brigid's.  It will be lovely to see you all onsite as we haven’t had the opportunity for the last two years.

EUCHARIST PREPARATION - YEAR 4

We are starting our Eucharist Preparation next Wednesday 5th May with a Preparation Mass at 10am where the children will walk to St Brigid’s church and celebrate Mass with the Parishioners. Parents are welcome to attend. That night (Wednesday 5th May) we then have the Family Activity Night at 7:00pm upstairs in our Year 5/6 Area.  Don't forget to enter via the Office.  A QR code will be on the door and we ask that all families sign in using this code.  We hope to see all the Year 4 parents on the night. An Opperoo note has been sent home with all the information.

ENHANCING CATHOLIC IDENTITY SURVEY

Thank you to those parents who completed the ECIS survey last term.  There was an issue with the ECIS website which has now been resolved. If you haven't completed the survey, we would really appreicate if you could take the time to complete it now.  See attached letter for all instructions.
