The Oscars came to Copperfield! Year 9 and 10 students this semester have explored and responded to a variety of media texts and created and made short films in a genre and style of their choosing.
In order to celebrate the achievements of the talented filmmakers, we held in class screenings, aka Oscars ceremonies. Students rated each film and identified the best film, in addition the best editor, actor and sound technician.
The results of the ceremony for Ms Huseyin’s year 9K class were:
Best Film - Katie,
Best Actor - Lauren,
Best Editing - Will,
Best Sound - Leon.
The results for Ms Huseyin’s year 9B class were: Best Film - Nicholas,
Best Editor - Matthew,
Best Actor - Nicholas,
Best Sound - Carlos.
The results for Ms Huseyin’s year 10 class were: Best Film - Kyle,
Best Editor - Esha,
Best Actor - Danny,
Best Sound - Jesse.
All students put in a fantastic effort in order to complete great films, working collaboratively in groups, and/or independently. Congratulations to all and we look forward to work that continues to grow in style, quality and depth.

LOTE NEWS
Calabria Club – Students in Years 7 and 8 Italian classes experienced a taste of Italian life and culture on an excursion to the Calabria Club. They were immersed in four different workshops including Pasta Making, Traditional Dancing, Bocce and Soccer (Calcio), each representing an aspect of Italian life. Students also had the opportunity to practise language skills with the volunteers at the Club as they were all native speakers. A feast was had by all when we were then treated to a delicious lunch consisting of pasta, pizza and gelato!

Juventus Soccer Academy
Students from Year 8 Italian classes as well as students who undertake soccer coaching at Copperfield had the opportunity to participate in some Soccer Skills Workshops by coaches from The Juventus Academy. The Coaches - Davide, Francesco and Andrea, demonstrated and shared their various skills with students in a fun and enjoyable environment. We were fortunate to have these workshops before Davide, Francesco and Andrea’s return to Italy for Christmas.
