Premier's VCE Award

Felice Lok received the Premier's VCE Award on Monday, 3 June, for her perfect score in English Language last year. Achieving a score of 50 in a VCE study is a remarkable feat, evident in the fact that only 219 students were able to do so last year.

The Minister for Education, the Honourable James Merlino, presented the award and spoke of the important role that teachers, family and caregivers played in the exceptional achievement of all award recipients. It has long been known that students who achieve great scores are those with a strong support network around them, so I too would like to thank all the staff and community members for the support they gave to all students in the class of 2018.

Congratulations once again to Felice Lok and her family - Doncaster Secondary College is extremely proud of you. We look forward to hearing what else you achieve in the years to come.

Monash Engineering Scholarship Celebration

On Thursday 9 May, Monash Engineering welcomed 96 first-year students, their families and representatives from their high schools to the annual Engineering Scholarship Celebration.

Cindy Zhu was among the select group of recipients celebrated in the evening. The Dean of Engineering, Professor Elizabeth Croft presented a gift to each scholarship recipient in recognition of their achievements.

Students had the opportunity to hear from Monash alumna, Alexandra Gummer, and her unique story of balancing two successful careers as a chemical engineering/biochemist and an elite athlete. Alex’s advice to first-year engineering students is to work hard and embrace opportunities that push you outside of our comfort zone.
