Prep Breakfast at School – By Prep 13

As a part of the camping program at Plenty Parklands, the Prep Team build the foundation of independence to get the children ready for when they eventually go to school camp. On Thursday the 29th of August, the prep students and their teachers came to school in their pyjamas ready for a big breakfast! The children were responsible for bringing their own bowls, plates, spoons and knives. They had to pack their school uniforms, their toothbrushes, face washers and toothpaste to get ready for their day after breakfast. The children were given healthy breakfast options that included Rice Bubbles, Weet-Bix, Cornflakes, toast with jam, butter, honey and vegemite, as well as some orange and apple juice to go alongside their meal. Some of the kids ate up to 3 slices of toast and 2 bowls of cereal each!! They all did a fantastic job of washing their dishes, cleaning up their tables, brushing their teeth and getting dressed and ready for school. Some of the children said that the highlight of the day was seeing their teachers in their pyjamas and slippers too! It was a successful morning and the children had lots of fun!

Movement and Fun in 4-32

This term in 4-32, the students have had the opportunity to participate in our annual Gymnastics program at PIT Gymnastics in Mill Park.

Over the past 7 weeks the children have had the opportunity to try out many different gymnastics   apparatus including parallel bars, balance beam, trampolines, climbing ropes, rings and floor exercises. It has been enjoyable seeing the smiles on their faces and the sense of achievement when they are able to complete an activity they thought they could not do.

Every week the children look forward to their favourite activities but especially their opportunity to swing and fall into the giant foam pit. Although I feel they may not enjoy getting out of the foam pit as much.

The students in 4-32 have really enjoyed their time at gymnastics, always doing their best to give things a go and shown respect to the fantastic coaches that support them at PIT gymnastics. Many thanks to PIT gymnastics for their enthusiasm and professionalism in assisting our students with this great opportunity.
