ANNUAL BOOK FAIR 2019
Our annual Book Fair is fast approaching. Please support us by purchasing a book during the 3-way Conference day, as this is our only fundraiser for the library. Come in and browse prior to your meeting or after.
Your child will have a chance to view the books prior to this date and write a ‘Wish List” for you to check before purchasing on the 3-way Conference day.
Teachers will remind students that it is a ‘wish list’ and that parent will discuss the amount they can spend with their child beforehand.
DATES:
Thursday 10th October 4pm-7:30pm
Friday 11th October 9am-1:30pm
Library donations
Thank you to Noah (3-17) for his donation of library books. Also to April in P13.
Envision Hands - send us your caps
Don't throw them away - they can be recycled to make prosthetic limbs!
Plenty Parklands is collecting plastic lids for the Envision Hands Project, which turns them into colourful, superhero prosthetics for children in need. Envision Hands is a not-for-profit community initiative that uses 3D printing to turn plastic waste into mechanical hands and arms for kids, with the products being sent around the world.
The PPPS community can help by sending any plastic lids you have to our school, where they will be forwarded to Envision. Milk bottle tops, soft drink tops and flat water-based tops are the best to utilise (if unsure, look inside the lids for the numbers 2 or 4).
Year 3 Camp to
Arrabri Lodge – Warburton East
On Wednesday the 23rd of October, the year 3 students will be heading off to Arrabri Lodge in Warburton East for a fun filled, action packed three days of adventure.
While at camp students will participate in a variety of group activities such as low ropes course, flying fox, giant swing, rock wall climbing and mini golf etc. For our first night at Arrabri Lodge we will be doing a night bush walk and toasting marshmallows. On the second night we will holding a movie night.
None of this would be able to happen without our wonderful staff and parent volunteers. Thank you to all our volunteers who offered to attend the camp this year. Schools do not have enough staff to fulfill the legal staffing ratios on school camps and without volunteers we could not run such an important part of our curriculum.
The parents attending this year’s camp will be Sabi S, John K, John M, Anita B, Robert B and Chris V. Our parent volunteers were selected in accordance with the PPPS Camp and Excursion Policy.
It’s going to be a great camp and the students are looking forward to having lots of fun and experiencing activities that might be outside of their comfort zone.

Year 4 Camp to
Phillip Island Adventure Resort
On Monday the 14th of October, the year 4 students will be heading off to Phillip Island Adventure Resort for a fun filled, action packed three days of adventure.
While at camp students will experience a variety of group activities such as canoeing, raft making, low ropes course, flying fox, giant swing, rock wall climbing, beach activities etc. For our first night on Phillip Island we are having a Movie Night and on our second night we are going to
A Maze 'N’ Things.
Now none of this would run so smoothly unless we had some highly dedicated staff and fantastic parents coming along to make sure it all happens. Thank you to all our volunteers who offered to attend the camp this year. Schools do not have enough staff to fulfill the legal staffing ratios on school camps and without volunteers we could not run such an important part of our curriculum.
The parents attending this year’s camp will be Katherine R, Shane L, Anna C, Alexander M, Fiona T and Bill U. Our parent volunteers were selected in accordance with the PPPS Camp and Excursion Policy.
It’s going to be a great camp and the students are sure to create some lifelong memories.
There’s not long to go, so start getting excited!!!!
