AUTHOR VISIT
Tamsin Janu
Tamsins' visit was wonderful for the students to listen and experience a published author.
Here are a few more student reflections on Tamsins' visit.
Tamsin coming to this school and doing the workshop was actually very relaxing and was the best author visit we have had at this school. I enjoyed doing the workshop with Tamsin. THANK YOU TAMSIN AND MRS MCGUIRK. Keely Nash Yr 4
I think the author workshop was amazing with definite positives and I personally think that we should have the author workshop again next year so I can’t wait till next years author visit. The skills were a positive so it was amazing. Henry Chatfield Yr 4
Tamsin Janu’s writing workshop was awesome. She was very kind and funny. She really helped improve our writing and our skills. It was lots of fun. Tamsin Janu has definitely inspired us all! She told us about herself and how she came to write the books she did, and how she did them so well. It was something very special and we were all lucky to be there! Grace Tickle, Yr 5
I thought that Tamsins' visit was very interesting and fun . I loved learning about all the different things that Tamsin has done. I was inspired by Tamsin telling us that she always wanted to be a writer and how she had many different jobs and that you should never give up. I loved how she had included most of the people she had met and included all the different places she had gone such as : Figgy in the world and I liked how she told us about Figgy. Kind regards, Stirling Wheatley Yr 4
TOWN LIBRARY VISITS
Yesterday saw Yr 4 the Town Library. The students were shown the new borrower kiosks and taken "out the back" to see what happens when books are returned through the shutes. Some students even had their member cards and had opportunity to borrow. The students heard about the short listed books and Grandma Z. Next was the gallery visit upstairs to enjoy the HSC Art Express exhibition. The students really enjoyed their visit and as the first St Nicholas group to visit set an excellent example of how our students conduct themselves. Well Done Yr 4 it was terrific to be a part of your visit. I look forward to accompanying the other grades in Week 6.
