PRAYER

Mary our Mother, you sheltered Jesus in your own body, raised him with a mother’s care, and followed him in faith. With you, we celebrate God’s saving love. Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

for all candidates preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation .... for all Year 12 students undertaking their HSC Trials, and we pray for desperately needed rain.

LITURGY NEWS

Yesterday, Year 2 had a class visit from Fr Francis. Next week, 3D will have the opportunity to attend Reconciliation.

Feast Day - The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Thursday 15th August

Today 15th August is a holy day of obligation for the feast of The Assumption.  On this feast of Mary we celebrate what God gave to Mary, our Mother. The Assumption means that Mary was taken up into the glory of heaven not only with her soul, but also with her body. Jesus, the Son of God was born from Mary's womb. So when Mary died, God the Father and Jesus, would not let the body of the Mother of God be spoilt. This was her reward for her love of God and her years of faithful prayers and suffering. As we celebrate the feast day of Mary, we ask that our Blessed Mother Mary guide, protect and care for us.

FAMILY MASS

Our next Family Mass will be held on Sunday 8th September at 9.30a.m (Yr 1 and Yr 5 hosting) and we remind all our families that EVERYONE is invited and welcome at our Family Masses, not just those grades providing morning tea.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Bishop Kennedy in our St Nicholas Parish on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September. Please keep our Confirmation Candidates in your prayers. Parents of Candidates please ensure that the relevant forms/monies including Sponsors documentation are returned to school by Wednesday 21st August.

FATHER'S DAY BREAKFAST and LITURGY

Friday, 30 August 2019 - 7.30am

There will be a Fathers' Day Breakfast beginning at 7.30am in the Holy Family Courtyard followed by a Liturgy at 9.00am on Friday 30th August. We warmly welcome our Dads, Granddads, Pops, Uncles and significant male figures in our lives to join us for this celebration. 

MIGRANT & REFUGEE SUNDAY

An invitation from St Nicholas Parish ....

Migrant & Refugee Sunday will be celebrated Sunday, 25th August at the 9.30am Mass. All cultures to come dressed in their traditional dress & also bring a plate of traditional food to share if you can.
