SANTA'S MAGICAL KINGDOM

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Love Our Street Clean Up

Last Saturday we went to our first ‘Love our Street 3162’ clean up.  Alex K from 3/4A came too. Anyone that lives in Glen Eira can join.  There were around 30 people and lots of kids. The local MP was there too. All you need to do is turn up each month to the location they say.  We met all the other volunteers at Glen Huntly Station and they gave us gloves and a high-vis vests to make sure we were safe.  They also gave us two bags (one for recycling and one for landfill) and an old milk container for cigarette butts. We picked up hundreds of cigarette butts, lots of paper and even an old glass candlestick. It is a good activity because it helps the environment and keeps the streets clean.  Plus, it is lots of fun!

The aim is to collect 1 tonne of rubbish by November, so if other Ripponlea families join they may hit the target. Volunteering also means the school can get money for some things.

- Lenny (3/4C) and May (FA) Napoleone

The next clean up is on November 9 at 9:30am.

Email Jac Paltos at jacpaltos@yahoo.com.au if you want to join.

The Neighbourhood Watch of Glen Eira - Kingston have released a newsletter commenting on water safety, heat danger in cars and the health of your pets.
