Foundation Lacriarde

Our adventures thus far

Hello from FL!

We have been getting up to lots of fun in Foundation L - from learning to read and write, to exploring our school, community and parish.

The Foundation students are off to a flying start with their phonics, using their sounds to read and spell different words. We have now begun reading words and small sentences, how exciting. We have also been using our phoneme fists to write CVC words.

In week 5, we explored the topic of location in Mathamatics. It was so much fun. We learnt about different preposition words. We listened to the story 'Rosie's Walk' and discussed all the different places that Rosie had been and how she got there.

She went - 'across' the yard, 'around' the pond, 'over' the hay, 'past' the mill and so much more!

In religion we have been learning about prayer, how to pray and different places that we pray. We are also learning about Lent and the Easter story.

We begun our Lenten season by celebrating Shrove

In Inquiry, we have been learning about different places. We have explored different places in our community, school and our houses. Here are some creative pieces that we made to show different things we might find in our houses.
