Hello from our Sustainability Leaders

On Thursday 8th March our Sustainability Leaders attended a peer mentoring workshop at St Joseph’s Primary School, Chelsea. The students collaborated with their peers from Mentone Primary School and Moorabbin Primary School to educate a Prep class about the marine environment. Abi, Zali, Connor and Tony were excited to each receive their official iSea iCare badge and t-shirt acknowledging their important roles as iSea iCare Ambassadors for The Great Southern Reef.

On the 9th of March the Sustainability Leaders went to St Joseph’s Primary School and we learnt about sea animals and how to teach and run activities with Prep students. We received our badges and official t-shirts that say iSea iCare on it. I went with Connor, Zali and Abigail and my role in  the workshop was to ask the Prep class about how the ocean feels and looks. We were there for four hours and I am looking forward to teaching our OLA Preps.

On the 9th of March 2023 the Sustainability Leaders (Abi, Tony, Zali and Connor) went to St Joseph’s Primary School. We were taught some tricks about sustainability and did a workshop with the Preps. We got our sustainability badges and our t-shirts. In the workshop we had specific roles and my role was to ask the Preps what to use to drink instead of a plastic straw. We rehearsed the workshop two times before the Preps came in. We will teach and do this workshop to our Preps this term. We were there for 4 hours and got back at 2:30. That was our day at St Joseph’s Primary.
