2023 Polding Touch Football
This week Scarlett Newberry travelled to Parkes to compete in the Polding Touch Football team. They held a training session on Monday with games being played on Tuesday the 28th, while the girls played exceptionally well they were unlucky to not have anyone make it through to possible and probables. Great work Scarlett, you represented the Armidale Diocese extremely well.
2023 Polding Swimming
On Thursday the 30th of March, Hugo Sisson and Flynn McFarlane competed in the 2023 Polding Swimming Championships at Sydney Olympic Park.
Hugo finished first in his heat for the 9 years boys freestyle, beating his time at Diocesan in Gunnedah with a placing of 9th overall.
Flynn McFarlane finished 4th in both the 10 year boys freestyle and 10 year boys backstroke heats and placing 12th overall. Wow - we have some incredible sporting talent at St Mary of the Angels and we are all so proud of both of your efforts this week! Congratulations Flynn and Hugo.
Friday 28 April - Polding Winter Trials - Rugby League and Soccer
Good luck to Darcy Sisson who will be competing in the Polding Winter Trials for Rugby League and Rachael Jackson who will be competing in the Polding Winter Trials for Soccer next Term on Friday the 28th of April.
Glen Innes under 6's & under 8's League Gala Day
On Friday the 24th of March 2023, students were invited to attend the Glen Innes under 6's & under 8's League Gala Day at Mead Park in Glen Innes hosted by the NRL. Vinnie Furphy, Lulu Cruickshank, Billie Cox, Jack Newberry and Fergus McFarlane enjoyed a kids tackle ready program, designed to teach kids safe techniques on how to tackle, the under 6’s students played league tag & the under 8’s enjoyed a game of tackle. As well as playing in teams, students were introduced to different skill development activities throughout the day. We hope our students had a great time and had the opportunity to learn many new skills!
2023 Soccer Registrations
2023 Cross Country - 27th of April Term 2
The School Cross Country will be held on Thursday the 27th of April, Week 1 of Term 2. Children should start practicing their running in preparation for this event.
House Colours
St Mary of the Angels have 3 school house colours. We encourage our students to wear these on the day of the swimming carnival (as well as all future sport events), alternatively, sports uniform can be worn. In 2023 the school house colours are:
McAuley - RED
Mercy - BLUE
Mackillop - YELLOW (previously green however this has been changed as of 2023 to not clash with the school uniform)
